Getting Started

This section covers the basics everyone needs on day one: how to sign in, what to do if you forget your password, and how the VIMS screen is laid out.

Before you begin

You will need:

  • A modern web browser (Google Chrome, Microsoft Edge, or Firefox are recommended).
  • The web address for your organisation's VIMS site.
  • A VIMS account. Accounts are created for you by an administrator — VIMS has no public sign-up. If you do not have one, contact your administrator.

In this section

  • Logging In — signing in with your User ID or email address and password.
  • Password Reset — resetting a forgotten password, or changing your current one.
  • Screen Layout — the sidebar, the top bar, and the profile menu.

First time signing in?

Your administrator will give you a User ID (or register your email) and a temporary password. After your first sign-in, use Password Reset to set a password of your own.
