Common Features

Several features work the same way wherever they appear in VIMS. Rather than repeat them on every page, they are described once here and linked to from the rest of the guide.

Feature	What it does
Attachments	Upload, view, and manage files on a record.
Comments	Hold a discussion on a record.
Tags	Label records so they are easy to find and filter.
Filters & Search	Narrow down lists, sort them, and page through results.
Audit & Activity Logs	See a history of changes made to a record.

You will find these on the detail pages of inspections, vessels, observations, entities, and more — usually as tabs or as controls at the top of a list.
